OFF TOPIC: BARBIE ART EXHIBIT

Hello Kitty appeared in a local art exhibit several weeks ago and now Barbie has come to town. Hello Kitty collaborated with Barbie several times with a couple different versions of dolls. I am not a Barbie fan but seeing that Hello Kitty was connected to her I thought I would take a peek and the subject matter is quite interesting. Barbie is put in real life settings such as forclosure, a Girls Gone Wild contest and drinking Absolut Vodka. This is not for kids that is for sure. Ken also decides to dress in Barbie's dresses. The hubby even liked it and he doesn't like dolls. Hello Kitty is the exception though. The exhibit is called "Things Fall Apart" and is by Sarah Haney who is a local artist. She has a studio here and we may try to get a peek at her in action. We also picked up the offical art book only available here.

HELLO KITTY CAMEO ON E!'S THE SOUP

Once again Hello Kitty appears to me last night while I was watching The Soup on E! making fun of the past 20 years on the entertainment channel and Hello Kitty gets made fun of from a episode of Girls Next Door and Bridget's Hello Kitty dress up on her dog . You know you've made it when Joel Mchale has you on on his show. I love kitty!

HELLO GAY PRIDE

I love Hello Kitty and try to collect the most unique and interesting items of hers out there and I am certainly not judgemental. I picked up this Gay Pride Hello Kitty Charm from online. I am not gay. Actually gay also means happy so maybe I am gay for Hello Kitty.

I found this Pride Parade video online and guess who is starring in it? Hello Kitty. I want those big Hello Kitty heads for my collection.

I wonder if your allowed to go to a Pride Parade if your not gay?

HELLO KITTY HEATHERETTE LIMITED EDITION PLUSH

I just scored one of the best items for my Hello Kitty collection. This is a Hello Kitty Heatherette Plush from the famous glam fashion line Heatherette by Richie Rich and Traver Rains. Now I don't think this was actually for sale because there was only 30 of them and I have #13. I thought the number 13 was a unlucky number but obviously not in this case. The card it came with even says Best Of Luck in 2003.  It's not 2003 but I'll take the luck how I can get it. The person who put this up on Ebay apparently didn't know this could be a real gem for the collector. But their loss my gain. I only paid $10 for this.

This plush may have even come off of this dress.

She was even at Three Apples in LA October of 2009.

I'm not into fashion that much but it's kind of depressing that I just found out Heatherette is no longer made.

Ok so I was wrong about the Ebay seller not knowing this was a gem. This plush came from the Sanrio Inc address. I'm keeping the packaging. This is way too cool.

HELLO KITTY'S COVER GIRL FOR MAYBELLINE

Not too long ago Hello Kitty was the cover girl for Maybelline's Cat Eye's line overseas. I thought that it was her actual product but she was just the face for it with a few products of her own. I just bid on a makeup bag with her and the Maybelline logo on it for cheap from another country but I think I will still buy the Cat Eye's Mascara even though I do like kitty to be on some part of what I collect and she is not on the mascara. The mascara is still out I think with a new face promoting it. Cat fight!

HELLO KITTY'S SPACE INVADERS & I SPENT $10,000 IN ONE YEAR!

I think something invaded my wallet.

Apparently no one noticed the Space Invaders Anniversary that is coming up along with Pac man’s that was this past weekend and Invaders rank into the Guinness Book of World Records as the top arcade game except for Hello Kitty. As always Hello Kitty jumped on the arcade bandwagon back in 2007 with her collaboration with Space Invaders. I just picked up the hand towel on Ebay and got myself into a little bidding war. Actually a big one since I paid $30 for the towel. But since I have been collecting for only a year now and have spent probably $10,000 on Hello Kitty items it’s ok that I am this late on finding out about this.

I want this cell phone charm but I don't have a cell phone.

HELLO KITTY CAMEO ON BRET MICHAELS ROCK OF LOVE

Hello Kitty made a appearance on VH1's Rock of Love with Bret Michaels last year. One of his groupies was wearing a Hello Kitty tattoo on her arm.

She is wearing Hello Kitty but the BOW IS ON THE WRONG EAR. I have no comment on that. lol

Bret Michaels says Look What the Cat Dragged In. Alot of money from "the cat" that is for sure.

And on another note Bret's Trop A Rocka Snapple drink was very good. So was Holly's. In support of  Hollyrod and American Diabetes Association.

HELLO KITTY PAC MAN

Today is Pac Man's 30th Anniversary and to celebrate it I decided to pull out my Hello Kitty PACKITTY game and tank top.

I didn't do too bad recording and playing at the same time with one hand.

HELLO KITTY ROSARY BEADS

Before my funeral I will have to also arrange for a prayer. I looked into Hello Kitty Rosary Beads and it's very accessible. I'm not Catholic but in the religion of Hello Kitty everything is game. I always thought Hello Kitty had a Jesus or God like quality to her because her basics needs are making cookies and friends. That's it. I am religiously devoted to my Hello Kitty and try to follow in her footsteps.

Unfortunately I think I may have followed in her footsteps too much as the cookie making is starting to show.

HELLO KITTY FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS

I am so obsessed with Hello Kitty I have started planning my funeral. I know that makes no sense but if I’m going to include Hello Kitty I need to start now and I need to make sure the husband knows exactly what I want and need. I was thinking of a burial and include all my Hello Kitty items with me in the casket which is a couple thousand items. I don’t want anyone else to have them and I’m afraid he might sell them or give them away when I’m gone. I did ask him to keep them if something should happen to me and he said he would. I would prefer to live forever so I could keep collecting Hello Kitty but that’s probably not a realistic goal. I will not rest in peace without my Hello Kitty.

The Headstone. I am afraid someone might steal it though like in the movie Halloween (1978)

The casket but if I am going to add a couple thousand Hello Kitty items it needs to be bigger and by the time I pass on there will be more Hello Kitty items so the casket will need to be revamped.

Yes a tv wouldn't be too bad eaither in the casket playing Hello Kitty cartoons.

The location. It's all about location.

The song. Anyone who has there own funeral has to have their favorite song. Now the only part in this song that refers to me is the 3 word line Hello Kitty Casket. Ignore the rest.

HELLO KITTY AT BOBA CREPES RESTAURANT

I have never had Crepes but was convinced to try some for dinner last night so we went to a brand new restaurant called Boba Crepes. It's not the Crepes that got my attention but the Hello Kitty decor inside. I had stayed in the car and my other half ran out to tell me Hello Kitty was all over the place inside so of course I jumped out of the car to go take a look. We had even parked next to the owners car that was also decked out in Hello Kitty. I swear the more obsessed I get over Hello Kitty the more she shows up. I see her in places I usually wouldn't. Is the universe doing this?

HELLO KITTY AND CHILI'S

Not to long ago Chili's had a charity event where you could donate and have a meal for childhood cancer. Along with that you can color a chili however you like and of course all I could think about was Hello Kitty so you can pretty much guess what I did. The only time in my 30's where it's acceptable to be coloring at the dinner table.

  Bow down to kitty!

HELLO KITTY MEETS AUTHOR CARRIE VAUGHN

Hello Kitty has met celebs from every walk of work except writers. Until now. Hello Kitty met Author Carrie Vaughn best known for her "Kitty" series of books with Kitty being a werewolf. This was a purfect meet just because of the name of the book. We picked up the first book in the series called Kitty and The Midnight Hour which is pretty much when this blog is written. She was very happy to take a picture with Hello Kitty and signed the book as we were leaving. I haven't read it yet but will in the midnight hour.
